Public bug reported: Currently there is no way for the user to know if something went wrong why trying to play an unsupported video (either audio plays fine, or screen just stays back on the mediaplayer-app).
If possible, it'd be good to find a way to report back the errors from gst into the mediaplayer-app, so the user can have a better user experience when playing videos. ** Affects: canonical-devices-system-image Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: media-hub (Ubuntu RTM) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: qtubuntu-media (Ubuntu RTM) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: media-hub (Ubuntu RTM) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: qtubuntu-media (Ubuntu RTM) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: media-hub (Ubuntu) => canonical-devices-system-image -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1413824 Title: Unable to report decoding/playback issues to the user To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1413824/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
