I can confirm this on gutsy i386 with the current updates. It seems that the knetworkmanager package has been deprecated in favor network- manager-kde, and after the last update, knetworkmanager was uninstalled with network-manager-kde installed instead, but the latter package has no executables listed when I run dpkg -c network-manager- kde_1%3a0.2ubuntu1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb. End result: no knetworkmanager application installed.
