Public bug reported:

I' trying to install Kubuntu 14.4 (Trusty Tahr).
The 64-Bit Installer boots without any problems.
Choosing language, partitioning and inserting user account data works without
problems
But then the progress bar is nailed to 0%, no data or packages are copied to
the hard disk. The installer only shows advertisings about Firefox, ...
I'm booting from a RW-DVD. I'm using the latest 64-Bit Installer (Intel).
I'm trying to install trusty on a second SSD. Currently I'm using a 32-Bit
precise with PAE. So linux partitions, swap and so on are allready on my
system. Maybe that confuses the installer.
I'm using manual partitioning (/, /usr, /var, /home and /data on separate
partitions).

When using encrypted user data, some shell scripts are kept in an infinte
"sleep 2" loop.
Without encryption something similar seems to happen.

Any suggestions about how to trace that down?
