Sorry to take so long getting back to this. What I've found:

(1) In Ubuntu or Edubuntu that edited file results in displaying Gufw in
system settings in Unity as well as displaying Gufw in the flashback
menus.

(2) In Ubuntu GNOME that edited file results in displaying Gufw in
system settings using gnome-shell as well as displaying Gufw in the
menus of either flashback or the "new" gnome-classic.

(3) In Lubuntu no change would be needed, but the new file causes no
breakage either.

(4) Xubuntu throws a wrench in the works. Neither the existing file or
the edited file results in Gufw appearing in the menus!

So I think we need to add something special just for Xubuntu :^(

Could someone please liaise with Xubuntu dev about this?

I think I could get Ubuntu GNOME dev to sponsor the fix but I hate to
leave Xubuntu out of the loop.
