Same Issue Here Current Edgy, PPC (32Bit Apple iBook G3)
I've discovered after some futzing that if I disable a gstreamer plugin via: sudo chmod a-r /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so That it works around the problem. Possibly this means that this gstreamer plugin is causing it to crash (maybe miscompiled on ppc?). Notably gst-inspect-0.10 crashes too (until libgstlibvisual.so is disabled).
