> Precise Legacy=Y Secureboot=N Key visible=Y OK > Installation completes correctly but cannot be rebooted
The error shows that it's trying to boot grub-efi, and can't find the modules for it. If the installer was booted in CSM mode, this /should/ cause the installer to install grub-pc, not grub-efi; so I wonder if one of your other install attempts installed grub-efi, creating an EFI system partition, and the post-install reboot is loading this grub-efi from the EFI partition instead of grub-pc from the MBR. You could try deleting EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.efi from the machine's disk, and see if that makes a difference? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1100247 Title: Unable to install Ubuntu on laptop without enabling Legacy mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim/+bug/1100247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
