As it seems its a bug in "multid" on the fritzbox. Ubuntu is sending the rfc-standard informations to the fritzbox but the fritzbox itself is not able to handle that correctly. not all fritzboxes are affected some are using other versions of multid. multid is optimized for windows (which is using non standard stuff in this case)
So i think this bug should be closed because a patch should not change a standard-protocoll to something else by default just because the fritzbox is not able to handle standard-request correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115426 Title: Computer name is not recognized by DHCP of FRITZ!Box To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/isc-dhcp/+bug/115426/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
