What I meant is this bug is capable of triggering other network
deficiencies and make it work much worse.

I understand this bug should be fixed itself and I knew exactly what was
its behaviour, but in the end if the link gets saturated is in first
stage because network misconfiguration. No network properly configured
will notice Ubuntu One is running, but not taking only one of the steps
listed in the workaround can increase network latency from 250ms to
1000ms. Try yourself: the last two points are easy to test, and I did it
with very different equipment.
