Strange... You said you upgraded to Gutsy, but you are still having a 2.6.20 kernel. On Gutsy it should be 2.6.22. I may be missing something, as I am not too used to kernel bugs. Is it a 32 or 64 bits?
Do you know the make and model of your motherboard? Which NVIDIA video card is that? I ask because some unknown NVIDIA devices. (more curiosity than need) Please do (after connection dropped): sudo lsusb -v > lsusb.log and then attach lsusb.log to this bug report. This should indirectly give me the make and model of your usb wireless card. Frankly, I have no experience with wireless cards. But I guess having the results of iwconfig before and after connection drop would help. And or using iwevent, you should be able to figure out if any event have made the connection to drop. Use 'man iwconfig' and 'man iwevent' to better know the options.
