The suggested workaround there seems to be:
"try to run gstreamer-properties and change the output driver under the Video 
tab (to gl, x11/xshm, xv, etc)."

but it was not by you, so I am not sure this is what you are talking about.

It would help if you could do on that computer having problems with color:
lspci -vvnn > lspci.txt
dpkg -l >packages.txt
And tell us which output driver are too red, and which are ok?
