It is never as bad as it looks. And it certainly isn't bad enough to
move to Windows.

For me, I had to remove nvidia-glx-new and all other related packages,
download the NVIDIA drivers from their website (I use 9631, 9755 doesn't
work for me), compiled it and it was working. I also have FX 5200, it
works for me, even Beryl works. Bad thing is that I have to recompile
the nvidia driver for each new kernel, but once you do it 2 times, it is
not a problem at all and nvidia makes it very easy.
