I am also getting complete lockups, no mouse movement. Fresh install of 12.04 64-bit with all updates.
Computer: HP DM1Z with AMD E-450 CPU and ATI graphics. I have to say, after challenges with 11.04 and 11.10 I thought surely that 12.04 LTS would be a good release for me. Alas.
