@Otlay: I don't use mailserver at all on that server. I use cyrus-sals2 just so that users can be authenticated on subversion server. In my case there are no alternatives (as switching to dovecot) as it's only way to get svnserve daemon to authenticate users against ldap. It just can't be configurtion problem as with same cyrus-sasl2 versions and with same configuration files it does work on debian but does not on ubuntu
