I'm pretty sure this actually no longer classifies as a bug, and is
really an issue in documentation of upgrades / lack of reverse support.

I don't have an old copy of my smtpd.conf file from when I upgraded and
it first broke, but my new smtpd.com shows:

auxprop_plugin: sql
sql_engine: mysql
sql_hostnames: 127.0.0.1
sql_user: xxxxx
sql:passwd: xxxxx
sql_database: mail
sql_select: select crypt from users where id='%u@%r' LIMIT 1

If I recall, it wasn't listed as auxprop_plugin: sql before, and the
prefixes of the user/pass/etc I think were not sql_ before. I had a
broken mail system and had to downgrade postfix versions, finally got it
working with the configuration change.
