OK, it seems I'm not done yet. After a reboot I don't get the warning in the console anymore. The core-util errors are gone, too. However I still get the

Strange. I think gedit might spawn two processes and kill one of them later. I don't know where to go next. Here's a bit more info: $ ps aux |grep pulse pulse 8526 0.8 0.3 7620 3252 ?
