More information: Did a new install using priority=low on boot command line. This offers more options. The reboot happens when installing software. I select "Ubuntu desktop" and it will try to install about 1090 packages. The "retrieve packages for all works. Then on installation when trying to install the libre office impress packages it sends the termsig and the machine shuts down.
I first though my memory stick might be faulty, so I downloaded a fresh copy of the alternate installer iso (from the Singapore mirror - the first ISO was via Bittorrent) and copied the iso on a CD and repeated. Crashes at the same package. Is there a way to slow the install down - on the same machine installing onto a normal 500G disk (non SSD) works like a charm. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1000947 Title: Ubuntu 12.04 alternate install with LUKS fails on SSD To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/+bug/1000947/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
