Hmm, I see no compat package in Ubuntu, just:

libc.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0xb75ce000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb779f000)
Is it not possible to build it with 1.0.x?
