Dear Brad Figg, I still use the same Probook and I installed kernel "3.0.0-18-generic #31~lp638939 SMP Fri Mar 30" This seems to be a solution to the hardware bug. Why did it so long to fix?. I found a simple work around anyway:
Adding "video=SVIDEO-1:d" to grub fixes the "bug" as well Best regards, O.
