Just posting information on the fix. This bug affected me as well.
However it was not with the POWER_SUPPLY_MODEL_NAME. Every time I would
unplug and plugin my laptop I would get 100% CPU usage from upstart-
udev-bridge.
The garbage characters are in the value of the model name for this Sanyo
battery.

I have applied the fix and restarted upstart-udev-bridge and the issue
has not appeard again, even after rapidly unpluging and pluging in the
power supply. Attached is just the output for the add event for the
power supply.
