In order to test this I connected to my Nokia N9. At first, I got a "Connection refused" message, but then after issuing "sudo hciconfig hci0 sspmode 0" on the command line, I was able to browse my phone using gvfs-1.10.0-0ubuntu2+jml3. I suspect using gvfs-1.10.0-0ubuntu2 would result in dbus timeout.
