I'm going to wait for final build and release on 12.04, I need my my main laptop working and I've literally been disconnected for around two weeks on it while fiddling.
I'll grab the build next week on weds to test it for the weekend. See if the video support for the card works properly after the fact. No eye candy in 12.04 therefore PlayOnLinux and VM's are ugly looking with the open source ATi drivers, going to try the vendor drivers next time for ATi. BTW for those that have the same Acer line, 10.04 runs nearly perfectly on it with vendor ATi drivers, the open source ones don't do 3D, at least I've never got it to work in five years. I always have to put the vendor drivers in. For 10.04 and the Acer have to remove the network- manager-gnome package to get it to load into gnome and stop the dropped connection annoyance with the Atheros wifi card in the laptop. For my Dell Inspirion 9250, Ubuntu 12.04 is flawless except for 3D support. For my Dell D610 12.04 is flawless, don't care about 3D support onit because it's a crummy intel onboard iExpress video card. For the Dell Mini 10 (pink), it is flawless as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/943652 Title: [Aspire 5250, Conexant CX20588, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/943652/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
