Okay, sorry.  The 12.04 builds have been incredibly buggy on the BestBuy
disposable laptops.

I did manage to fix it though.

So here's the process.

First thing to install once in Unity is the restricted essentials
otherwise the OS dumps and dies when attempting to play an MP3 instead
of just failing.  Once that was done the Atheros driver for the 9285
chipset was locking Unity.

To fix that remove network-manager-gnome and setup wlan0 as a boot
process.  Works nicely, avoids all those annoying drops that plague
Linux wireless with gnome network manager.
