Can you verify that this new package fixes the issue? Note that you have to run "sudo grub-install (hd0)" (use hd0 if you want grub on the MBR) after that you have installed the new package. This is because the package contains the stage files only under /usr/lib/grub but they are copied to /boot/grub by grub-install.
