My goal was to upgrade from 6.06 to 7.04. Using kubuntu amd64-version.

I started on kubuntu 6.06

upgraded to 6.10 with the command
gksu "update-manager -c"
had to install python-vte to get it working
sudo apt-get install python-vte

When that upgrade was done, a message told me there was yet another version:
7.04 so I continued to upgrade
When all the packages where downloaded, they began to be installed, but
suddenly it stopped with the message:

"Could not install '/var/cache/apt/archives/gmediaserver_0.12.0-1_amd64.deb'
The upgrade has aborted. Please report this bug against the 'update-manager'
package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.

subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1"

Attatching the three logfiles found in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in
tar/bzip2 format.

I don't remember installing neither EasyUbuntu nor Automatix.

Let me know if there is more information I can give you.
