As I've written above, I've got the same problem as the initial bug filer, ddemchuk.
I would like to add some more info on this. Next time when I rebooted my compyter and selected 'Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.17-11-generic' (must have been added during upgrade - note: I've got an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor) from the GRUB menu, the computer did not start correctly. Fortunately I have a Windows partition I can use. I have accessed the linux partition and tried to find a log file with the error messages that are displayed during boot, but I have failed. Therefore I attatch a photo of my screen when linux has stopped booting. some excerpts init:/etc/event.d/tty3:13: Unknown stanza udevd[2296]: add_to_rules: PHYSDEV* values are deprecated and will be removed from a future kernel .... udevd[2296]: lookup_group: specified group 'nvram' unknown Soon I will format the linux partition and install kubuntu 7.04 from a CD instead. ** Attachment added: "Kernel output when booting stops." http://librarian.launchpad.net/7612869/IMG_3094.JPG -- Feisty upgrade aborts - can't install gmediaserver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
