Note that for bug 832865 (PySide merge from Debian, FFe for Oneiric), I dropped the debhelper dependency back down to 8.9.0 (for apiextractor, generatorrunner, shiboken, and pyside) without any noticeable problem. That doesn't actually answer your question, but I include this note and subscribe to the bug because once we do sync debhelper to 8.9.3, either now or in the P-cycle, we can remove the Ubuntu deltas from those packages.
