I'm running Debian now, but I think this may address your problem
(although it may be the "fix" mentioned above is the application of the
same patch, I can't tell).

Brief summary. Install the "psmouse" patch

and-touchpad.

After that, 1) no more random cursor movements while typing 2) tap to
click, right side scroll, and doubleclick to grab will work.
