Okay, so it looks like there may well be some work that needs to be done on the resume function of the mceusb driver. Getting that squared away is the real answer to this problem, not some highly questionable script. I have the topseed 1784:0008 device myself, should be able to reproduce (and fix) the problem in relatively short order.
