Update : EFI problems are getting solved (might be merged in linux 3.0), and radeon need to have a vbios loaded to make it happy : https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26891
i found no way to change the backlight brightness, though. There is /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness, but i has no effect. I t seems the acpi DSDT is only supporting backlight routines when booted in BIOS mode.
