I just had a look at the script's output and mine is essentially the
same, just that I have a 2.6.39-0 kernel and a 1.0.24 alsa driver. but
since the headphone jack didn't give me music before i made these
changes, i doubt that they are the cause. and yes, i can hear the
unplugging sound as well, even over the headphone jack. i wouldn't give
too much attention to it, if the volume of the sound wasn't changeable
from ubuntu. that's weird. at the moment i'm really running out of
things that i could try.
