Unfortunately, I faced the problem again after the screen was locked a longer time (1 hour approximately). Firstly, when I try to unlock and return to my session, I takes very long (about half a minute) until the popup window to enter my password appears. After having typed the password, I takes another while until the screen has recovered to the state it was before locking the screen. From now on, it's not possible to work sensibly with Ubuntu since everything is sluggish, so I have to restart X. With Ubuntu classic (without effects), everything works perfect, so I assume strongly Compiz to cause the problems.
