OK. I rebooted with the parameter. And the backlight works perfect. But,
once again, it isn't 100% "everything OK". The screen seems to be
squeezed from up and down and the right and left side seem to be
stretched, making everything look a little strange. Also, the brightness
hotkeys don't work again. They are not even displaying the brightness
bar on the screen when pressed (the previous days, the hotkeys did not
have any effect on the brightness but, oddly, they were showing the
brightness bar increasing or decreasing. And the latest problem I have
to report is the mouse pointer. As soon as I click on anywhere on the
screen the pointer disappears and when I drag on the screen the pointer
disappears when I stop dragging. This is something which it didn't do
before.

I'm starting to think this will never end. :-)
I just continue struggling on this because Ubuntu worths the effort for being
such a wonderful human-and-not-money-oriented organization-community and
because I know that by reporting and trying to solve these bugs I'm making
Ubuntu get better and get rid of its flaws.
Anyway, I got a little off topic there.
Back to the problem(s).
When I type the ls /sys/class/backlight/ command now, I get absolutely nothing.
Look at the screenshot below.
