There are so many duplicates because each time I upgraded packages apt would try to install this one ... giving an error message (above) and offering to report the bug. There are also a lot of complaints about this on the Ubuntu forums and linuxquestions.org
This happens after installing the 2.6.35 kernel. I think some of the dupes will be reporting that where this one reports 2.6.32 ... appears to be due to headers and libraries not being where the package expects them. Broadcom used to publish a patch for this, but it is no longer available or I would have attached a copy. That usually means it is fixed ... I'm guessing that later releases are fine and this is an issue only for the LTS. Completely removing the 2.6.35 kernel allows wireless to work (though benifits of the upgraded kernel also vanish). It seems I get to choose between wireless and graphics on this machine (hp envy14). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/695191 Title: package bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36 bdcom-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: bcmwl kernel module failed to build -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
