@Dave: Upon closer inspection I see that for your particular machine there will not be an "Acer WMI hotkeys" input device. So either your hotkeys are going to be reported on the "AT Translated Set 2 keyboard" device or else on one of the other WMI devices I see that aren't currently being handled by the acer-wmi driver. I'd suggest trying the steps I suggested on the AT keyboard device, and if that doesn't yield anything I'd suggest opening another bug to deal specifically with that issue. It would also be interesting to know whether any of your hotkeys worked.
