For the original reporter: You've installed automatix. Unfortunately,
there have been many reports of automatix causeing upgrade problems.
Ubuntu can't support upgrades after installing 3rd party software such
as this. If you still have the problem after a clean reinstall, please
file a new bug or find another bug that describes your issue.
