here is the attachment, because it is DV it is only 2 second of video (6MB 
already)
how can I reproduce this with ffplay ?
btw, ffmpeg -i test.avi -target pal-dv test.dv works, no problem there.

in maverick the garbling of the video stream is indeed solved in 0.13.5 but 
saving the sound as raw audio still isn't working
and indeed it would mean fixing gstreamer for maverick and then backporting to 
lucid, but it would be worth it.
Lucid is after all an LTS so it has several years of expected lifetime :-)
