Worked on my VIA C3 machine (that's an old install: dapper -> edgy -> and now feisty).
Even the nx installation that broke during the upgrade from dapper to edgy and that I had to repair continued to work this time. Only some small issues: - During the upgrade I found the following message a bit confusing: "Lese Changelogs... Fertig WARNING: terminal is not fully functional /tmp/tmp0lx07T (press RETURN)" A normal user would probably ask himself: "What terminal?", "What file is that?" I guess the upgrader didn't expect the display of the list of changes / the used console doesn't support the features requested by the less command. - During the upgrade and also during the next "normal" dist-upgrade I got: "update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-2.6.20-13-386 W: mdadm: unchecked configuration file: /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf W: mdadm: please read /usr/share/doc/mdadm/README.upgrading-2.5.3.gz . W: mdadm: no arrays defined in configuration file. W: mdadm: falling back to emergency procedure in initramfs." Reading the mentioned docs taught me how to get rid of the "unchecked configuration file" warning but it doesn't seem that the other warnings will go away. I don't use a RAID. - i18n problems: -- Incomplete German translations -- Incorrect plural handling: "Es verbleiben ungefähr 1 Minuten." -- Broken character "Ü" in the button label of the remove packages dialog in the cleanup phase (the skip button ("Überspringen")). -- SRU: updates necessary for Kubuntu Upgrade Tool in Edgy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84717 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
