This bug is currently the most important flaw in Ubuntu. Problem is, that this directly affects the prime target market for Ubuntu: small netbooks, older laptops and everything where power management is crucial.
It took some time to get this bug marked as "confirmed" Marking it as "medium" importance is a really bad joke. However, I'm pretty glad to see that "Unassigned" is still on the job.
