Perhaps somebody might be interrested in my experiences with Slackware (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-hardware-18/how-does- hibernate-affect-my-suspend-resume-820417/). What seems important to me is that the pm-suspend.log, if resuming fails, shows clearly that the resuming process did not even start. Check the thread to see logs from a success as well as from a failure, since resuming worked sometimes after I did a hibernate before a suspend.
