Hey Martin, This is a request to change the default settings of sysklogd. It has nothing to do with the kernel, so I have changed the package setting. As a request to change defaults, I think it goes in specifications, though if you still think it's a bug, I'm not going to reject it again.
Joe, if you're out there, try filing this as a feature request for sysklogd.
