Hello, I have this exact same problem with:
Inkscape 0.47 r22583 (Apr 4 2010) globalmenu-panel-applet 0.7.5 I am running a 10.04 fully updated that was upgraded from a Hardy installation. Starting from the command line I get: $ inkscape GLib-GObject-ERROR **: Attempt to add property GtkMenuBar::local to class after it was derived aborting... Emergency save activated! Emergency save completed. Inkscape will close now. If you can reproduce this crash, please file a bug at www.inkscape.org with a detailed description of the steps leading to the crash, so we can fix it. (process:8233): GLib-GObject-WARNING (recursed) **: IA__g_object_get_valist: object class `GtkMenuBar' has no property named `local' aborting... Aborted Sorry it the fix there but I couldnt find it.
