Overall the upgrade went well. A few hiccups but this seems much better than doing a manual dist-upgrade through apt :-)
I was a little confused about the stuff on stopping of services, but I just hit Enter there and hoped that I wasn't breaking anything. It was really hard to follow what was going on in the tiny terminal window provided. This should be made larger by default. I also got the dpkg error code 1, which didn't say much about what the problem was. Hopefully this is something that can just be ignored. The update manager froze when i told it to reboot, so I just used the KDE logout button to reboot. After it had rebooted it didn't start X automatically, but I figured out I had caused this by not following the instructions exactly. I had my restricted and main sources both coming from edgy-proposed, when ths instructions just show to just use the main repository. I had to manually add a feisty restricted line to get my nvidia driver working. After that X worked fine. The only other thing I found is that I had to manually change my sound card output from digital to analog to get it to work again. I am not sure why this setting got changed. -- SRU: updates necessary for Kubuntu Upgrade Tool in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/84717 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
