Small bug found. After seeing a request to test this app on the Kubuntu RSS feed i figured I'd take the plunge and give Fiesty a try on one of my machines.
First impressions are that the updater is working well, it's still has a couple of hours of downloading to do but I do like the look. When first starting there are a series of progress bars that appear without any description which IMHO should at least say what they are doing in plain English so as not to scare people. However, my /etc/apt/sources.list file was quite a mess and this caused the updater to choke. I had an entry which could not be resolved and when it timed out I was given an error message and the updater would not continue. This was an entry I had set up myself so I knew it was safe to comment it out and try again. I don't think this is quite how the updater should work though as people could have all sorts of cruft in their source.list. I hope that helps and I'll comment on the results once the updater has done it's thing. -- SRU: updates necessary for Kubuntu Upgrade Tool in Edgy https://launchpad.net/bugs/84717 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
