hello Omer! how do i clean up the mess i made with the comments?? first off, evolution is not currently my default app for mail, yet the launcher launches evolution. should we open a new bug on this one, first? if the user configures another app as default UMA in his preferences, all of the systems launchers should honor that decision. i wouldn't know how the messaging menu spec provides for such cases..
yes, i believe evolution should simply be relaunched on the correct page, when launching from the messaging menu. right now, the launchers in the messaging menu only open additional instances of evolution, instead of simply delivering the desired page... i'm thinking of a dropdown menu on a website. if i hit "contact" i don't want a new page to open with "calendar" or "mail" in it, i just want to see "contact" this is the kind of behaviour we are looking for. the spec says "relaunch", i think with evolution's large footprint, this will become quite impractical on the long run. to just show contacts upon clicking "contacts" would be a large improvement, since we wouldn't have to load that whole bunch of other memory & cpu hoggers with it, e.g. -- indicator applet opens multiple windows for "contacts" and "mail" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550830 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
