The problem with different resolutions was fixed a few ago (Herd2 time?)
and should now work.

So. It seems we need a vga bootparm. I *think* I did test it on my
laptop, but I may be confused -- looks like I have draw a prize in the
form of a migrane, at least not strong so far.

Right now, no matter what, I am setting this as high importance, but I
really would like to know what Habbit and stuartmarsden experience: I
still cannot reproduce it here...

Questions:

(1) why didn't you get a vga setting on installing (neither did I, on
the three AMD64 I set to feisty)?

(2) why is it that usplash seems to suffer if no vga bootsplash?
