I have the same errors in dmesg running Fedora 12.

Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.i686 #1 SMP Mon Jan

I was running Centos 5.4 and everything worked perfectly. I needed
newer software tools so I decided to give Fedora a try. I just did a
fresh install this past weekend and my SD card has stopped working. I
am getting some strange behaviour and bug reporter requesting I submit
bugs for failing apps. So at this time the issue appears to be
affecting my SD card reader. Not seen in a fdisk -l, nothing in the
/dev directory to indicate that it recognizes the drive.
