I can confirm this behaviour when booting the feisty-desktop-i386.iso of Herd 5, altough the bootmessages are different on my system (see attachment). Specs:
- ASUS P5W DH Deluxe Mainboard - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU This motherboard contains a jMicron chip for IDE devices. I've seen some postings on launchpad regarding problems with this chip. My system uses the jMicron IDE connection for my DVD/CD drive, so maybe these issues are related? ** Attachment added: "Herd 5 386-iso bootmessages on Asus P5W DH Deluxe" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6609808/asus_p5w_dh_deluxe_herd5_bootmessages.jpg -- Feisty Herd 4 does not boot on ASUS P5W DH Deluxe https://launchpad.net/bugs/81596 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
