@Julius Thor (#46) Any chance that you would kindly post a "sudo lspci
-vvnn" for your Atheros card, I'm very curious if it exactly the same as
Lenove used in the R60 models I'm using for my testing. What encryption
type are you using (none, wep, wpa, wpa2 and personal or enterprice
etc.) on the connection giving the good performance, and what type of
access point or wifi-router. I'm asking as I've tried several different
combinations, just to find if the root cause could be anything other
than the ath5k module....REALLY Curious, and thanks in advance.

@ Leann Ogasawara (#47) Fine with me, I'm ready to supply whatever info
can help solve the issue.

Have to mention that right now I'm using a friends older ThinkPad with an IBM
Atheros adapter, running at full speed and no drops at all. Using a Karmic
final release and running right from the live CD. The adapter is PCI ID:
Ethernet controller [0200]: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC
[168c:1014] (rev 01) Subsystem: IBM Device [1014:057e]
