After speaking on IRC, we may have established that the BIOS version/settings 
may have been causing the soft lockup/reset error. The drive is still not 
detected though and I am not sure if testing a mainline kernel will help in 
this case as it is just hardware detection.
I believe there is enough information, however, for a developer to begin 
looking at the problem, so I shall mark this Triaged and let them handle it 
from here. Thank you.
