Public bug reported: Binary package hint: fontconfig
It shows linking with QtCreator under qtsdk-2009.02; however I believe it's a generic bug. QtCreator failed to link (I mean ld failed to link when invoked by QtCreator) because some libs were missing; at least libfontconfig and libXext. The problem is solved manually creating the (symbolic, for instance) links *.so in /usr/lib, where they were not found (just *.so.X and *.so.X.Y were present). I found it in a fresh install of 8.04.3 desktop on a VMWare 2.0 virtual machine, with vmware-tools installed (manually from the *.tgz). My previous 8.04.1 (updated daily) (installed on physical HW) did not show this behavior when same qtsdk-2009.02 was first installed.
